Perimeter Drainage & Rainwater Leaders
We start by determining the location the water has to drain to. We then study the plans to determine the most aesthetically pleasing locations for the downspouts to drain the roofs as required. Using only CSA-approved rigid PVC we install the perimeter drain and leaders with the correct slope to satisfy the BC building code. the foundation drain is then covered with drain rock and protected with heavy-duty filter cloth.
Damp Proofing
Foundation Insulation
After we prep the wall by removing any protrusions which may damage the insulation, we cut and securely fasten the foam to the wall to ensure it does not move during subsequent backfill operations. Depending on the area you are building in, and whether the slab is heated. There are many different types and thicknesses of foam required. This is determined by the building designer and strictly followed to meet the current code requirements. After the radon membrane installation is completed the slab edge band insulation is installed at all outside walls.
Radon Mitigation
After we clear and prep the area, The radon collection manifold is installed. We then place and grade the radon rock. the 10-mill poly os them laid out paying close attention not to puncture it during installation. Any penetrations are then sealed with approved tape and the perimeter is sealed to the foundation using special mastic to form an air-tight barrier beneath the slab.
We only use the very best materials available for this type of work. After we prep the wall by removing any protrusions which may damage the membrane, we mark out the top of the dimple with chalk lines. The membrane is then attached to the wall with the approved fasteners and sealed at the vertical joints. The top edge is then capped with a special trim to prevent backfill material from entering the drainage void behind the membrane.
